Shy yet open
everyone lingers
people talk yet,
souls are still timid
two groups unite as one
one rhythm beats
our heart is the bass drum
the one continuous beat,
that never stops
people aren't so shy
not now, not now
that we have been
broken in, like an
old pair of sneakers.
We dance and frolic
fearful and happy
We dance, as ONE.

Writings

The Embodied Path: A Justification and Presentation of Dance as a Medium for Learning in Religious Studies
This is my M.Ed. thesis from Lesley University. I begin by addressing the history and present climate of religious studies as an academic field. I then write on aspects of embodied learning and sacred dance, culminating in curriculum components for an embodied approach to teaching religious studies.
