February 18-May 17: I'm study abroad trip leading through northern India with Global LAB.
Program focuses on Buddhism and Hinduism, with attention also
given to Jainism, Islam, and Sikhism.
June 16-18: Hillel Alternative Break, through the Jewish Farm School, Kayam Farm, MD.
June 27: Philadelphia Independent Film Festival screening of "Cutting a Rug, Turning the Wheel: Beats and Buddhism in Northern India." Philadelphia, PA.
July 5-9: Insight Meditation Society, Teen Retreat. Barre, MA.
July 22-27: Insight Meditation Society, Family Retreat. Barre, MA.
July 30-August 3: Spirit Rock, Family Retreat. Woodacre, CA.
Dharma Jams: 9/15, 10/20, 11/17, & 12/22 at the Dance Complex in Central Square, MA.
Possible topics for reflection and movement inspiration include the Four Noble
Truths, karma, impermanence, and emptiness. 8-9:30pm, $7-10.
Fall 2008: Auditions and rehearsals towards a collaborative choreography process
culminating in the DDC's first season of performance.
This calendar primarily represents solo work that I'll be doing through the winter. Once collaborative rehearsals begin for the DDC's first performance, the "company" aspect of this project will be more present. Additionally, I look forward to making connections that allow the mission of the DDC to be supported by other dharma dancers. -HB
